Dogs we've been introduced to in 2024
During this year's Dog Day operations we've had feedback from our QSO partners
Some feedback from QSO partners
Nolan, KI5IO had this to say to Caryn, who contacted him while operating K2D.
"Tnx for the information/head's up about the Dog Day Event.
I was also very glad to be able to have a Q with you this AM on 15m.
My wife and I have had two rescue babies for 13 & 14 years (this time around)
and just last week had to let our 13-year rescue go to heaven due to growing health issues.
Her name was (is) Ginger and she was a Nova Scotia Duck Toller.
A great and loveable dog who was always in my ham shack under my desk keeping me company.
We went through TPLO surgery (our version of ACL) on both rear legs so had over $10K invested,
but she was worth every penny. I've attached an image of Ginger.
Our 14-year old rescue is now having additional responsibility to keep Liz
and I 'in line' now that Ginger is gone.
All of our puppies have been very special.
Tnx again for the Dog Day event. Very timely for me for sure."
Here's Zselé
After a QSO with Hanz, operating YL1DOG Sanyi, HA8CQ sent this message along with a photo of Zselé
"Dear OM!
She's our family dog.
She was adopted by her grandchildren from an animal shelter and she is name Zselé as Jelly.
73! mni DX! HA8CQ Sanyi
"
Next is Vincent, PE2V and his Labrador, called Hummer. Vincent was operating outside
and sent photos of his as well as this shot of Hummer.
Vincent says, "Hallo Hanz,
73! Vincent PE2V

PA3GSY sent this picture
Caryn, KD2GUT sent this photo
and she says in her email, "Mark, W2ITG sent along this pic of Kitt,
a 12-year-old dachshund.
They have had Kitt as a puppy.
He was bought off Facebook because the owner
had the puppy and decided they didn't want him.
Kitt has a VERY loving home!
"
Caryn, KD2GUT tells us, "Mike, N3PM was a great CW contact last night
and he came through with this promise to send pics of Sparky and Molly.
These two rescues are devoted to one another!
Sparky is a Parson Russell and Molly is a mix of an Australian shepherd and pointer!
Great QSOs last night... looking forward to more."
A photo from Bo, SM2IEN following a QSO with Hanz, YL1DOG
SM5DXT made a QSO with Caryn, operating K2D on 20m CW. This QSL arrived electronically, showing Casper the
poodle.
So Caryn signed, "73 voff voff"
After a QSO with K2D, K9VIC sent Caryn this message, along with a photo, " Here are the current pups at my
house.
Tessi's the one with the black nose.
Baloo is the one being stepped on.
Both are foster fails. Baloo was rescued from a dog fighting operation about a year ago.
He was a bait dog and has plenty of scars to show it. But he's the sweetest, most gentle dog."
More stations are appearing, supporting International Dog Day. We are adding information as soon as it is available, letting you know about ham radio operations and those who are on the air. There are stories and pictures of their dogs. Of course, there are many ways anyone can help with the well-being of dogs everywhere
You can use the links at the top of this page to find out more about participating stations in 2024
